Welcome to Unity of Chattanooga’s New 2017 Series
“Awakening – On Purpose”!
Based on the book “Discover the Power Within” by Eric Butterworth
Week 3 – Sunday, May 14th – “YOUR THOUGHT IS YOUR LIFE”
Butterworth points out that “The very word ‘man’ comes from an ancient Sanskrit word which literally means ‘to think’. Through thinking, man has the possibility of knowing God and expressing the wisdom of Divine Mind.” Life is consciousness and it is your responsibility to yourself is to keep yourself inwardly focused and to keep your thoughts positive and loving. Follow along in the book by reading Chapters 6 & 7. Each week’s sermon stands alone, so be sure to join us as often as you can. Books will be available to purchase on Sunday.
For this year’s Spring Series, in alignment with our “Awakening – On Purpose” 2017 theme, we will be studying the book Discover the Power Within You, by Rev. Eric Butterworth. Oprah Winfrey said , “This book changed my perspective on life and religion. Eric Butterworth teaches that God isn’t ‘up there.’ He exists inside each one of us, and it’s up to us to seek the divine within.” In my experience, in Discover the Power Within You, you will find what is quite possibly the best explanation in spiritual literature about why Jesus is considered to be our elder brother, teacher, and way-shower. Butterworth demonstrates that the existence of the Divine Dimension in each of us is the greatest discovery of all time. He beautifully and simply highlights why Unity’s teaching is of Jesus rather than about Jesus. Yours in discovering the power within, Rev. Christine Grace
